In the early 90s, the Board of Directors started looking beyond Singapore to look for inspiration and new ideas on how to improve the co-operative's services and facilities to benefit members. Study tours were conducted in Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan & Japan and provided the Board of Directors with valuable insight to their success stories.

The Subsidised Health Screening Scheme launched in May 1990 was well received by members. Under this scheme, members aged 35 years and above, with membership of more than three years, are entitled to 30% to 50% subsidy, depending on the length of membership, when they go for health screening at the Chook Sports Medicine & Medical Clinic. An annual budget of $10,000 was set aside specially for this purpose. Members can also arrange for their wives to go under the health profile screening scheme but their wives would not be eligible for the subsidy.

After months of research, the Police Co-operative finally introduced the Fixed Deposit facility. Members can save as little as $500 to a maximum of $80,000. On the morning of 17th August 1991, the Fixed Deposit Scheme was launched with Mr P Ganesan making the first deposit of $10,000. The interest that the Police Co-operative offered was without doubt among the highest in the financial market.

In May 1992, the Police Co-operative purchased a six-storey building at No. 21 Middle Road at a cost of $4.85 million. The acquisition of the building was a realisation of a plan made several years back. It was a good and positive move on the part of the Board of Directors as the time was ripe for the investment in landed property. The building was renamed the Police Co-operative Building and was rented out to various tenants to earn income. It has always been the intention of the Police Co-operative to move its office to its own building. On 4th September 1995, the Police Co-operative officially opened for business at its new location.

The Police Co-operative is registered under the General Insurance Association of Singapore as an agent to two principals, namely NTUC-Income and Insurance Corporation of Singapore. The two agencies were contracted by the Police Co-operative to provide a myriad range of general insurance services to members. Simultaneously, it also gives the Co-operative the opportunity to compare rates between the two principals to ensure that the premium rates offered to members are truly competitive. Through these agencies, the Police Co-operative arranges contracts of general insurance for its members on behalf of its two principals.

In recognition of years of hard work and perseverance, the Police Co-operative was awarded a Commendation Plaque on 2nd July 1994 by the Singapore National Co-operative Federation Ltd for its reputation as a progressive Society. This Commendation Plaque was granted to organisations for meritorious contributions to the Co-operative Movement nationally and/or internationally for a continuous period of at least 10 years.
